| | The Brad Mackay Scholarship
The
Brad Mackay SCHOLARSHIP is an award presented to an Under 15 player at the end
of each playing season.
It is awarded to the player in this
age group judged as having the required talent, combined with the dedication and
application that is required to progress further in the code of rugby league.
The
scholarship totals the amount of three hundred dollars ($300) and must be used
in support of the players future education expenses.
The
scholarship is named in honour of the clubs most celebrated player Brad
Mackay. Brad played his entire junior league career with the Brighton Seagulls
until his elevation to District Club level as an 18 year old in 1987.
In
the years following, he became a regular member of the N.S.W. State of Origin
teams,
toured with the 1990 Kangaroos and played a total of 14 tests for Australia against
all nations. He established himself as a player of fine skills and
enormous integrity.
This scholarship is endorsed by Brad Mackay.
