The Brad Mackay Scholarship

The Brad Mackay SCHOLARSHIP is an award presented to an Under 15 player at the end of each playing season.

It is awarded to the player in this age group judged as having the required talent, combined with the dedication and application that is required to progress further in the code of rugby league.

The scholarship totals the amount of three hundred dollars ($300) and must be used in support of the players future education expenses.

The scholarship is named in honour of the clubs most celebrated player Brad Mackay.  Brad played his entire junior league career with the Brighton Seagulls until his elevation to District Club level as an 18 year old in 1987.

In the years following, he became a regular member of the  N.S.W. State of Origin teams, toured with the 1990 Kangaroos and played a total of 14 tests for Australia against all nations.  He established himself as a player of fine skills and enormous integrity.
